Scar Revision
Dos and Don'ts prior to Scar Revision Surgery
Scar revision surgery is usually done under local anesthesia. There are not many dos and don'ts. The most important thing is to avoid aspirin and aspirin- containing products for at least 2 weeks prior to revision. Ingestion of these products will lead to more bruising and swelling.
Smoking dramatically decreases the body's ability to heal. Therefore, it is recommended to stop smoking 3 weeks before and after the revision. It is advised not to eat within 4 hours prior to local anesthesia.
