Procedures Gives Man a Much-Needed Lift

After years of living with sagging eyelids, Spring Arbor police officer Dan Walsh had corrective surgery. Walsh, who opted to have a brow lift because the condition interfered with his vision and work as a police officer, noticed a marked improvement in his vision after the surgery. Many people have brow lifts, but the surgical technique differs according to the position of the eyebrows, height of the hairline and the size of the upper eyelid skin, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Despite being a common procedure, brow lifts are not as popular as they once were. Research shows that brow lifts fell 65 percent to around 43,000 in 2007. Most patients who have brow lifts are over 40. At 58, Walsh fell in that category, but says he is happy "I had it done."
