Mammography of breasts with implants requires more X-rays in order to see around the implant. For this reason, mammograms on women with implants often cost more. If you have a strong family history of breast cancer and/or significant fibrocystic disease, you should be sure to discuss this during your consultation. It should be pointed out that breast augmentation does not increase the likelihood for breast cancer.
