Before surgery, the anesthesiologist will discuss with you what type of anesthesia is best for you and will pay close attention to your medical history, the procedure, and your personal wishes. Typically, the procedure is done under general anesthesia. It can, however, be performed under local with sedation, depending on the amount of skin to be removed.
